About the Role:

Maple Gold Mines Ltd. is a leading exploration mining company with a properties located in the Province of Québec. We are seeking a Director, Exploration to play a pivotal leadership role in advancing our exploration programs, including those on the flagship Douay/Joutel Gold Project. This position will oversee all the Company’s exploration activities, focusing on multi-rig drilling campaigns leading to mineral resource delineation and expansion, property-wide geological/geochemical/geophysical exploration programs, and the management of onsite exploration personnel and 3^rd party contractors. 

Working closely with the CEO and VP, Technical Services, the Director, Exploration will plan, direct, and implement operational policies, initiatives, and goals related to exploration. The role includes executing both short-term and long-term plans for all the Company’s properties, supporting their progression from exploration to mine development. The successful candidate will also project budgets, mentor junior geologists, manage, and contribute to strategic decision-making in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

The Company is seeking a local candidate who can work at its remote site five days per week; however, a flexible schedule may be considered for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing, budgeting, implementing and oversight of all exploration programs.
• Selecting and prioritizing exploration targets across a variety of geological settings within the Company’s portfolio of properties. 
• Managing diamond and reverse circulation drilling programs, compiling and managing incoming drilling data, interpreting results, plotting findings, and presenting insights to management and engineering teams, ensuring adherence to strict QA/QC processes.
• Expanding the Company’s mineral resource base through the initiation, design, and implementation of cost-effective exploration programs aimed at discovery.
• Managing all exploration programs to maximize profitability, efficiency and sustainability of operations while maintaining high standards for health and safety.
• Developing and tracking all exploration budgets, soliciting, and awarding contracts, designing, and implementing industry best practices for exploration methods and standard operating procedures, managing project costs, and approving invoices.
• Executing oral and written reporting to company management, government regulators, and property owners; and aiding in the preparation of NI 43-101 reports.
• Supporting the preparation and management of permit applications.
• Oversight of the Company’s mining claims and tracking assessment requirements.
• Assisting with corporate disclosure obligations including news release preparation, MD&A and Annual Information Forms, and Company website content.
• Engaging and maintaining Community and First Nations relationships.
• Mentoring exploration staff, particularly in relation to project management.
• Developing monthly, annual, and multi-year budgets and strategic plans.
• Assisting with business and corporate development including marketing to the investment community and supporting analyst tours.

Qualifications (Must-Have)

• OGQ-certified geologist with a strong technical background in mineral exploration.
• Minimum of fifteen years of gold exploration experience, with at least five years in a senior role.
• Fluency in French (spoken and written).
• Proven experience in managing multi-rig drill programs in Québec.
• Strong technical writing skills for assessment/NI 43-101 reports and permit applications.
• Proficiency in Leapfrog, GIS software, and other geoscience tools.
• Proven ability to review work, provide direction, assign, and manage tasks, assess performance, and foster training and development.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong planning and budgeting skills.

Preferred Experience (Nice-to-Have)

• Experience with alkaline porphyries and intrusion-related gold systems.
• Background in project evaluation and mineral resource estimation.
• Innovative mindset and proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
